Suzanne Garry is What Matters For Life's President and founder. Suzanne brings a unique perspective to the life settlement industry. She has over 20 years of experience from both the institutional funding provider and brokerage sides of the business. Suzanne's career in the settlement industry began with ViatiCare, one of the largest institutional funds in the industry. V.C. Capital secured a revolving credit facility with Cargill Financial Services (CFSC) in 1994. Suzanne worked with CFSC to establish underwriting and regulation standards for the life settlement industry across the country. She also developed a nationwide sales force of insurance and financial professionals building awareness of the advantages of the life settlement industry.
As the industry evolved Suzanne co-founded Living Benefits Financial Services. Gen Re Securities, a subsidiary of Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway Inc, provided the funding at Living Benefits. Suzanne dedicated her efforts on building awareness in the settlement business through an educational based marketing approach. She consulted with independent brokers and worked directly with professional advisors to incorporate life settlements into their practices.

Adam Tillis is the the founder of Life Settlement Services, LLC. Adam is a pioneer in the life settlements industry, having established one of the earliest viatical companies with institutional funding. Adam began his career in insurance in 1978 with USF&G as a Property/Casualty underwriter. In 1984, he went on to work as an Excess and Surplus Lines Underwriter for Washburn Associates in Minneapolis, which specialized in liquor liability and special event coverage. He then became Underwriting Manager for Ben-Ezra Associates, an Anchorage based specialty risk Managing General Agency.
Adam founded ViatiCare Financial Services, Ltd in 1993. ViatiCare was the first institutionally funded settlement company, working with Cargill Financial Services to develop a $600 million revolving funding facility. Recognizing the changes in the life settlement industry, Life Settlement Services partnered with the brokerage firm What Matters For Life and they share a team of experts. What Matters For Life provides services to consumers and their professional advisors and Life Settlement Services provide B2B services for the tertiary markets.
Tim Fredrichsen is General Counsel and works on the contracts and legal aspects of a transaction. A graduate with distinction from the University of Iowa college of Law, Tim has been in private practice since 1985, beginning his career as a tax advisor at the public accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche. He opened his own law practice in 1994 and founded Amicus Law Group in 2001.
Tim has served as President of the Board of Trustees for Childhaven, a Seattle-based organization dedicated to the protection of children who are victims of abuse and neglect. He is a member of the planned giving advisory board of the Washington State University Foundation and is a member of the Washington Planned Giving Counsel and helped form the planned giving advisory boards of The Nature Conservancy of Washington and of the Whitworth College.
Bob Marquardt is the Director of Administration and is responsible for administrative and compliance issues. He began his career at Cargill, Inc., in 1974 as a management trainee in the agricultural commodities trading division. He became a trading manager for the company focusing on agricultural chemicals as well as grains. In 1990 Bob went to work for Business Equipment Brokers, a developing Seattle based telephone equipment brokerage. The startup grew to become a major USA secondary marketer in the telecommunications industry. In 1998, Bob went to work for Paradise Bay Products, Inc., as Chief Operating Officer. Paradise Bay is a developer of niche prepaid card programs which then helped develop the Slingshot prepaid internet product. In 2005 Bob joined Adam in the development of Life Settlement Services, LLC.
Jonathan Miller provides underwriting compliance. He attended Wake Forest University for two years and then the University of California at Santa Barbara for two years to finish a B.A. in History in 1996. He then worked as an outside sales rep for Xerox, and then worked for Washington Mutual as a loan processor and then a loan originator. He then moved on to work for several brokerages conducting hundreds of millions of dollars in residential, commercial, and hard money mortgage transactions. In 2007 he finished his MBA at the University of Utah.
